Third graders get a special Valentine's Day treat
Third grade students at Barringer Road had special visitors on Valentine's Day. The 7th Dimension Barbershop Quartet sang their hearts out at a performance for the students. The father of Isaac Schlaegel, a third grade student, is one of the quartet members. Students learned a little bit about what it is like to be in a barbershop quartet and listened to a style of music some may not have heard before. Maybe there will be a future barbershop singer in the class!
A barbershop quartet is a musical group of performers that sing in a four part harmony including a first tenor, second tenor, bass, and baritone. The harmonies are complex and require very skilled singers. The third grade students were fortunate to have been able to enjoy this unique style of music.
