New student enrollment

Procedure

Jr.-Sr. High School

For students in grades 7-12, an appointment should be made prior to registering with the Guidance office by calling 315-895-7120. At that time you may come in with proper documentation to complete forms.

Barringer Road and Remington Elementary

For students in grades K-6, contact the elementary school for the district area you reside in. Paperwork can be submitted between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Note for Remington students: After all registration paperwork is received, an appointment will be made to have your child take a reading screening test before being placed in a classroom. This is to ensure proper placement into a classroom that will best suit the needs of your child.

Forms required

Ilion CSD Student Registration form (PDF) - This paperwork is required to be completed by all new students entering the district. You may print or pick up the paperwork in person at the building you are registering in.

Emergency Release Notification form (PDF) - This form should be completed for information on the student's parent(s)/guardian(s), emergency contacts, and medical proxy.

Documentation required

  • Proof of Residency - item must indicate the parent's/guardian's name and address - examples of proof may be: rent receipt; mortgage receipt or bill; utility bill or receipt; cable TV bill or receipt; telephone bill or receipt.

  • Proof of Custody - in situations which involve legal separation or divorce - examples of proof may be: legal court papers or a notarized statement by both parents.

  • Proof of Date of Birth - examples of proof may be: birth certificate or baptismal certificate.

  • Physician Physical - proof of a physical within the previous 12 months is required before entering in school.

  • Immunization Records - for all new entering students, regardless if from within state, out of state, or from a foreign country.   View the immunization requirements.

  • Social Security Card - Original Social Security card for your child.

  • Student Records - a copy of current student report card and IEP (if applicable). Records will also be requested from your previous school.

Out of district enrollment requests

  1. Request permission to be released from attendance at your home school district from your Superintendent of Schools. The response must be in writing.

  2. Request permission to attend Ilion by writing to the Superintendent of Schools and Principal of appropriate school stating the reason(s) you want to attend school in Ilion.

When a decision is made, you will receive a letter indicating the next step to follow to enroll in Ilion CSD.
