Ilion Teachers' Association gives back
5 members of the Ilion Teachers' Association (ITA) attended the Annual New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) Training Weekend in Saratoga Springs September 21-23. This event offers value to teachers for professional development as well learning new skills to take back to their schools and share with colleagues. Workshops this year covered topics on union finances, union administration, Annual Profressional Performance Review (APPR), and building representative training.
The Making Strides for Breast Cancer drawing was held Saturday evening and raised over $18,000! The ITA contributed a variety of baskets and items for the drawing.
Thanks to the generous 50/50 sales throughout the year at both elementary schools and the Jr.-Sr. High School, the ITA was able to provide the following items:

Thank you to everyone that contributed snack donations and supported the 50/50 drawings. Special thanks to Nancie Cooney for assisting in gathering items for the drawings and to our local contributors, Kinney Drugs, Ilion Music Deptartment, Sisters' Shearin, The Flower Barn, Ellen Burney and Leon Frost. The Ilion community has proven once again to be a great support for organizations with their contributions and fundraising efforts.
