Let the runners erupt at the Volcano Run

Geology Club will be holding their first Volcano Run!

Ilion High School’s Geology Club goes on a trip to Hawaii every two years to learn about the environment and the culture of Hawaii. The students take a year long, after school course to educate themselves about the ecosystem that exists in Hawaii and to prepare themselves for what the trip involves. In Hawaii, the members study the effects of volcanoes and other geological features on the environment. In addition, the members participate in community service in order to better the environment.

Due to increased travel expenses the price for students to go on this trip has increased greatly. The price for the upcoming trip in the Spring of 2013 has risen to over $3,000 per student. The profits from the race help pay for the students to go on the trip. At the registration table the day of the event, there will be a sheet of other fundraisers and coupons that benefit the Ilion Geology Club’s trip to Hawaii.
