Tech Club builds boxes for Ilion Police
Technology Club students helped organize equipment
for the Ilion Police Department by building storage boxes for their
police vehicles. The Ilion Police Benevolent Association funded the
construction materials and plans were drawn by Village of Ilion Police
Captain Laurie DeVaul. Under the direction of Technolgy Club advisor
Mr. Pat O'Brien, club members Marcus Townsend, Carl Burr, and Jon
Hoover built the storage units in about 30 hours. In the end, it was a
perfect fit and a useful organization solution.
The boxes will securely hold police equipment in
the rear of the sport utility vehicles, preventing the equipment from
rolling around as well as keeping it secure from non-law enforcement
occupants while they are in the vehicle.
These low profile boxes also permit placement of
other equipment on top, without having to remove all items from the
rear area of the police vehicle providing easy access.
