Supplies and Pennies for Paws Collection
The second grade students at Remington School have been busy collecting items and saving their spare change for the Herkimer County Humane Society.
A special guest came by to say "thank you!" to all
the students for their hard work to benefit the shelter. Mr. View, a
volunteer at the Herkimer County Humane Society, and his newly adopted
dog, Molly, stopped in to visit all three second grade classrooms.
Mr. View spoke to the children about the inner workings of the Herkimer County Humane Society and how dependent the society is on the generosity of others. Molly proved to be a wonderful ambassador for all shelter dogs. She wandered around each classroom curiously investigating. Her sweet gentle manner was clearly evident. Molly is a marvelous example of why "shelter dogs" can be your best friend through adoption.
During the month of December, the second grade classes also created a bulletin board with photos of students and staff with their pets.
A very special thank you to Mr. View and Molly for visiting the classes. The second grade classes are grateful to all who contributed towards the collection to benefit the Humane Society. Your kindness and compassion is greatly appreciated. It is our sincere hope that every animal finds a good home.
