School boards pass proposed merger resolutions

At special meetings, the Ilion, Herkimer, Mohawk and Frankfort-Schuyler boards of education each passed resolutions to move the proposed merger to a public advisory referendum (straw vote) on Jan. 19. Ilion Superintendent Cosimo Tangorra, Jr. encourages residents visit the school website or to call him personally to learn about the many opportunities and challenges a merger would bring.

Absentee ballot applications available online

January 3, 2012

If you are going to be unable to vote in person for a school vote, you may apply for an absentee ballot. [Click here for a copy of the application.] Applications for absentee ballots for the Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 Merger Advisory Referendum are available from the District Clerk Ken Long at 894-9934 or can be downloaded from the district website www.ilioncsd.org. Completed applications must be received by Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter or Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 if the ballot is to be issued to the voter in person. Absentee ballots must be received in the office of the District Clerk by 5 p.m., Jan. 19, 2012.
